My Mind is Swirling, Whirling, Gurgling!
I have no excuse for being a bad blogger, except that with the release of Whisper and the home invasion by our three kids on spring break, I have fallen hopelessly behind.
Now Blakely, the real one for whom Hush was written, is graduating from high school.
The realization of having a child preparing to enter college, and everything that goes with it, is mind-boggling.
I think how can I be that old? Then I laugh, as I look in the mirror and see the smile creases lining my face.
I am so glad that we ran into that street reporter so long again and was inspired by the question he asked. “What do you want to be when you grow up?”
I can’t imagine what my life would have been like had I lived in fear of the unknown and was not willing to take the risk required to become what I truly desired.
I love being a writer and hope that I have proven to Blakely, as she moves on with this next phase of her life, that anything is possible.
As Lisa Cron, a fellow writer, said in a blog post about The Importance of Letting ‘Em See You Sweat. “If you’re not at least a little bit afraid, you’re not doing it right.”
