Halle
For those of you who don’t know who Halle is, let me tell you. She is our 13-year-old daughter and the first publicly published author in our house.
She is also a character in all three of the Lakeview Novels I have written or am in the process of writing.
She wrote this poem last week for extra credit and I thought it well worth a blog post.
Possibilities
Can you tame
That which is not yours
Can you gain
Without lifting a finger
Can you control
That which has held you captive
I ask the impossible
Yet widely know
What many people look at
Yet have never seen
Never sensed
You say I’m crazy
A strange sheet of nothing
Unable to be heard
Left by society
But I am something more
A flair
Sparkling bright
Inspiring a million
Strengthening even the free spirit’s mind
I can taste
That cloud of realism
That follows your every move
Shielding your eyes
From the love that blinds others
